Senior Quantity Surveyor

RightMove are now hiring for Senior Quantity Surveyor for our client based in County Limerick, Ireland.

Job Description: Our client is searching for multiple reliable quantity surveyor’s to join their capable team of professionals. The quantity surveyor will be tasked with analysing existing budgets and making improvements, reviewing plans and preparing quantity estimates, negotiating with various contractors and vendors, as well as building relationships with clients and site managers.

Responsibilities:

  • Cost management of multiple projects allocated by Commercial Director/Regional Director
  • Analysis of contract documents ( RIAI Blue Form and Government Form ) in particular drawings comparing actual versus tender details on a weekly basis to maximise variations
  • Prepare budget for approval by Commercial Director, Operations Director and Regional Director.
  • Management and direction of Junior QS as allocated by Commercial Director
  • The QS will be required to liaise and work closely with the Regional Director and Contacts Manager in his role to deliver high quality projects on time and on budget.
  • The Quantity Surveyor is charged with the task of procuring all required subcontractors or Conack Construction resources necessary for the carrying out of all works.
  • The Quantity Surveyor is charged with the task of managing all payments to subcontractors and suppliers in accordance with company systems and procedures.
  • The Quantity Surveyor is responsible for all paperwork required in the running and management of his project and for the correspondence required with the Head Office.
  • The Quantity Surveyor shall ensure that all variation accounts are dealt with in such a manner so that they are paid as the project progresses.

Experience: 

  • Degree qualified.
  • Chartership is preferred but not essential.
  • Experience in a previous senior position.
  • Experience in preparing valuations, variation management, CVR reporting, payment certificates.
  • Experience in apartment developments would be preferred but not essential.
  • Reporting to commercial manager.
